A Laptop Scratching Post Will Entertain Your Cats
0Everyone who owns both a cat and a laptop knows that felines love walking all over the laptop’s keyboard. They play with the mouse, even swipe it off the table, before aiming a few well placed hits at the screen. A laptop fascinates cats, but the damage definitely does not amuse their owners. However, there is little that can deter our furry friends from demolishing our laptops. Or is it? A new laptop scratching post aims to distract their attention and convince cats to leave our poor laptops alone.
This new laptop scratching post has been designed by Suck.Uk. The UK based company wanted to come up with an invention that would stop cats from sprawling all over our laptops when we are trying to work. As such, they designed a laptop for our pets. The scratching post looks like a good bribing tool. It comes with stickers decorating its silver case and a tethered mouse in the shape of the real animal. Moreover, the display is a high-resolution photo that can be changed by the owner with photos of their own choosing. Instead of a keyboard, the laptop scratching post has an exposed section of cardboard which the cats can use as a scratching surface.
“Does your kitty feel left out while you are busy on your laptop? Now everyone can be on Facebook, even your cat. Tiddles will love getting her claws stuck into the irresistibly scratchy cardboard keyboard (and it will keep her from tearing up your furniture). If you want to upgrade the operating system or install new applications, simply print a new screen on paper and slide it inside. A great gift for your nerdy cat,” the company wrote on their webpage, describing their newest product.
Scratching is not an inherently malicious act on your cat’s part. The action helps the animal remove old material from its claws and mark its territory. The laptop scratching post aims to convince the cat to limit this habit to a scratching post and keep it from destroying valuable things, like a laptop. Its price is $35. Would you buy it?
