Watches are those elements of everyday life that bleed seamlessly in our life we tend not to pay them attention anymore. Sometimes we take them off when we come back to work, whereas other times we keep them on our wrist 24/7. The development of smartwatches has caused a slight change in this mentality, giving more versatility to our watches and making us see them as interactive gadgets, not just tools.
However, traditionalists will rather keep their old watch instead of switching to a sleek, smart model due to its design. To solve this problem and blend the old with the new, Huawei created a new Android watch with a classic design. It was first presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The watch is the first Android one to feature a scratch-proof sapphire crystal display. It has a stainless steel body and a mesh (or leather) strap.
For its Android functions, the Huawei smartwatch comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. However, what truly makes the watch stand out apart from its elegant design are the 40 customizable watch faces. One of these faces shows the lunar phases, the weather and notifications in a perfectly traditional design.
The Huawei Android watch comes with several sensors. It has a heart-rate monitor, a 6-axis motion sensor and a barometer. All these sensors can be used to track the steps, distance and calories burned. The watch is also able to make the difference between walking, running, biking, hiking or sleeping. In terms of charging, the company has announced their Android watch will have a “magnetic charging station” to make the process more convenient.
The release date and the price have yet to be announced. However, the Huawei Android watch will be available in 20 countries including the US, UK and Australia. Would you like to have one?
