There are many people who dream of having their own house by the lake, preferably at the edge of the woods. They wish for a retreat in a place filled with solitude where only the sounds of nature shake the silence. However, building a house on the banks of a lake is no small feat. It requires time, dedication and money. To make things easier, the Vipp Shelter was created. It is a minimalist prefab house that can be easily placed wherever we wish it.
The 55 square meter steel structure is made for almost every terrain and comes ready to move in. However, when designing this project, Vipp wanted to go back to the basics, back to nature. The company came with a shelter that would blend in the wilderness and bring both man closer to nature, but also comfort at the same time. The Vipp Shelter comes with furniture, appliances, fixtures, lighting, tableware, towels, and bed linens. All furniture items are created in a minimalist style.
“The objective was not to make a house or a mobile home. Vipp is rooted in the manufacture of industrial objects, so the term shelter is a typology that allows us to define this hybrid as a spacious, functionally generic, livable object”, explained Morten Bo Jensen, chief designer at Vipp.
The structure is designed to bring you close to nature. As such it is almost entirely transparent, the only exceptions being the bathroom and the bed loft. The windows are distributed such as to give you a perfect view of your surroundings, but at the same time keep the cold away during winter times. The house is spacious and comfortable enough for two people. Whenever you feel like retreating from the hustle and bustle of the city, you need only to pack a bag and take your laptop with you. The Vipp Shelter will be there to help you relax. Would you like to try this nature retreat?
