Vacuuming is one of those things we all loath to do. It is tedious and boring, time consuming and most of the time leaves us weary. As a result cleaning robots have proven they can be commercially successful. They are able to do our work fast and easy, while we sit back and simply press buttons. It comes as no surprise that companies wish to create cleaning robots for commercial spaces.
Avidbots hopes to bring automated cleaning to our work spaces by designing cleaning robots that are easy to use and come with a price tag that makes them affordable for commercial spaces. Grocery stores, airports, malls, factories, and warehouses could all benefit from this new invention.
The Avidbots robots use laser mapping to create accurate maps of the area that needs to be cleaned. After the map is ready, they plan the most efficient path in order to make sure the area is clean. The company claims that, in this way, the robots make sure not a single part of the commercial space is missed. The bots can also operate in swarm mode. They communicate with each other and build maps to check whether an area has already been cleaned or not.
Avidbots is preparing to sell its sweeper robot for $7,500 and the scrubber robot for $13,500. Alternatively, if a company prefers renting, the two can be rented for $4 and $6 per hour respectively. This includes warranty and service. When it comes to cleaning robots, the main question is whether you manage to save money or not.
Avidbots estimates that you can save 50 to 70 percent over the year by using their cleaning robots. However, these calculations do not include robot maintenance. There is also the eventuality that some areas cannot be cleaned by the robots. In this case, a person would need to come from time to time and clean those areas.
