This is a weird bicycle for some, but not for Ben Wilson, the one who invented it. This four-wheel recumbent-style bicycle gives the term ‘bike riding’ an entirely different meaning.
First of all, it’s not your daily two-wheel bike, where you have to sit with your back straight on a very uncomfortable small chair. Secondly, it’s a four-wheel bike, so you can’t fall off, like in the case of a normal bike. When you have never ridden a bike before and try a normal one your knees can suffer several times. With Artikcar bike, you just sit down like on your couch, pedal and wave at people as you pass by.
Artikcar bike might not attract conservative people, but those who want to experience new things. I am wondering whether the bike will roll over and land on its wheels again in case you hit something at 20 mph. Maybe you will just fall on one side without many injuries.
Its bright neon lighting not only allows drivers to see you at night, but also gives branding companies the opportunity to do some non-conventional advertising. Maybe you can put together some words for a company, while someone rides the Artikcar Bike. People could see a “Buy some cake” sign in lights wandering on 5th Avenue.
Would you picture yourself riding this weird Ben Wilson style bike on a no-snow Christmas Eve costumed in Santa? The Ben Wilson style!
