Going on adventures, hiking, canoeing and trekking through forests, brings a surge of adrenaline in our souls and color in our lives. However, in these moments, we wish to capture the scene of our adventures. This is not always possible because our cameras are not made for dangerous surroundings. The Ricoh WG-M1 aims to help you imortalize your adventures, without breaking in the process.
The Ricoh WG-M1 is the latest addition to the WG series. It has a unique form that will make it stand out from the other cameras in the series. Moreover, the 14-megapixel camera is clearly made to compete with the other action cameras. It also features wide-angle lens, built-in Wi-Fi and a 1.5-inch LCD screen.
The camera is just as tough at the other WGs in the series. It is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters (33 ft) and needs no other protective housing. The Ricoh WG-M1 is shock-resistant in face of falls from two meters (6.6 ft). It is also able to withstand temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F).
The front of the camera features a “ultra-wide-angle 16.8-mm equivalent F2.8 lens”. This gives the camera a 160 degree field of view when the user is shootings stills. In video recording, the angle is reduced to 137. Inside, the Ricoh WG-M1 has a 14-megapixel 1/2.3-inch type CMOS sensor. Its ISO range is 100 to 800 and it can shoot bursts of images at up to 10 frames per second. The camera can record at Full HD 1080p 30 fps and can also produce slow-motion footage when recording at 120 fps.
The device measures about 42.5 x 66.5 x 89.5 mm (1.7 x 2.6 x 3.5 in) and weighs 190g (6.7 oz). It also has a 1.5-inch color LCD monitor that allows you to check both still and videos. Would you take the Ricoh WG-M1 in your adventures?
