If you have your 18th birthday coming up, it’s such an exciting time and we’re sure that you’re super excited to get started on planning your big day! However, there are so many options for what you could do, so we are here to help you decide. Whether you want a big party, want to go on a trip with your friends, want a chilled camping trip or want to go and see your favourite artist, we have got you covered. These ideas will really help to make your day amazing, no matter what you love to do. So, let’s get into it and introduce our fun ideas for celebrating your 18th birthday!

Have A Party

Our first choice is a very obvious one; have an 18th birthday party! Whilst it may sound cliche, if you want to celebrate with all of your friends and family in one place, then a party is the perfect way to do it. You might want to do it in a local hall, at your house, in a marquee, but no matter what you pick, you’ll have a blast. Decide on what kind of venue, music and food you would like, get that booked, then you can start to focus on the smaller details.

Just make sure that you let all of your closest friends and family know the date as far in advance as possible, so that you know all of your nearest and dearest will be there. Then, you can send out more formal invites to everyone at least a month before the event. If you have lots of friends and family and you want them all there to celebrate with you rather than planning lots of different events, then one big party is the way to go!

Book A Spa Day

Many spas only allow people over 18 to enter, so if you love to relax, make sure to book a spa day to celebrate! Go with your friends or close family members, book a couple of treatments and just fully relax for the day. You could also book afternoon tea as a really nice touch. If you tell the spa in advance that it is your birthday, they might give you a free treatment or a bottle of bubbly with lunch to celebrate. This is such a great way to celebrate your birthday in a relaxed environment with your loved ones.

Go To A Theme Park

If you are a bit of a thrill seeker, then booking to go to a theme park on your 18th will be super fun. You know everyone will have a great time as there is so much to do for everyone, plus its something different if some of your friends aren’t big drinkers or party goers. It is best to go to a theme park with a smaller group and also an even number, so everyone gets to go on everything they want to, you can all stay together and no one has to sit on their own on a ride as most rides are designed for 2 people to sit together!

Head To London

If you want a taste of city life when you turn 18, then you have to visit London. Your options are literally endless when it comes to celebrating in London, whether you want to sightsee, go for a fancy meal, go to the theatre, visit London Zoo, plan a big night out or go to a concert. Try to stay quite central so you are near to everything and have easy access to pick up some London souvenirs on your trip, then you can walk almost everywhere.

For those of you who want to plan a big night out, although it is pricey, London is the place to do it. Throw on one of your bodycon dresses, book yourself onto a guest list and head out! China Whites is a great club in London for a birthday as it’s nice and fancy, but there are plenty of other options across the city, including more indie clubs in places like Shoreditch and Camden. Overall, a trip to London will give you an 18th birthday you will always remember.

Book A Fancy Restaurant

Booking a fancy restaurant for your 18th birthday is a great choice if you are a foodie. There is no better time to try out a great restaurant than on this special occasion, whether you’re trying a completely new cuisine or you want to go to a restaurant you’ve had your eye on for a while. This could be with your partner, friends or family, making it a super diverse choice no matter who you want to be celebrating with.

Just make sure that whoever you’re taking with you will be able to afford it, as you don’t want to cause financial stress for other people when celebrating your birthday. If it’s something you really want to do but your friends might not be able to afford it, you should subsidise the cost for other people.

Book A Camping Trip

If you love the outdoors, a camping trip for your 18th is a great idea! It is super affordable for you and your friends/family, you can just relax, take your own drinks and foods, play fun games and enjoy the fresh air. Plan a few special things for everyone to do together, like a group BBQ, doing water activities at a local lake, going to a local beauty spot or all taking bikes and doing a group cycle. This might not be the best idea if your birthday is in the winter, but for spring, summer or autumn celebrations, a camping trip will be so much fun.

Go Skydiving

If you’re a proper daredevil, one of the best things you can do for your 18th birthday is to go skydiving. It’s an absolutely incredible experience that you will never forget, with some even describing it as genuinely feeling out of this world. It will be a great story to tell and you might even fall in love with it and pursue it as a hobby! You might not ever want to do it again or you might love it, but one thing is for sure, it’s an experience you will never forget for your 18th. Bungee jumps are another great alternative if you have one more readily available near you, or if you aren’t sure if you are a thrill seeker or not, then start with a lower intensity zip wire experience! Make sure to take a friend or family member with you to cheer you on before the big jump.
