How safe do you feel at your present job?

For some people, they do in fact worry about their job status and what may happen if things do not go their way.

That said staying on top of your job is important for many different reasons.

If you are a tad concerned about your job being on the line, here are some things to avoid at all costs:

  1. Doing a bad job – It goes without saying that doing bad on the job is going to make things dicey. That said you may not be performing up to standards and not even know it. Unless getting feedback from a supervisor that say things are not good, how could you know? It is wise to ask for feedback on a regular basis. Having a job review on occasion is a good thing. Sure, you may worry a bit about what your boss might say. That said it is better to know where you stand than be on shaky ground.
  2. Criminal issues – If you have a parking ticket or two, no, this is not the end of the world. That said make sure you take care of such responsibilities. Police may want you due to unpaid traffic tickets, refusing to pay child support and more. If this happens, you could have a warrant out for your arrest. If you do discover you in fact have an arrest warrant out there with your name on it, deal with it as soon as possible. This will take some pressure off. With this in mind, do your best to fit in when it comes to the time you spend in the workplace. No, you do not have to be best of friends with your fellow workers. That said you do need to be an adult and get along with others to the best of your abilities. If you are having an issue with a particular co-worker, see if you can get the matter settled in a peaceful manner. Companies also are more understanding when they see two people work out issues. Finally, you want to do your best to be a team player. Companies also like it when employees go that extra mile on the job. If you are only doing the minimum and your attitude is not good, you could have a short stay where you are at.
