The Ideal Home Show 2015 Breakdown

The Ideal Home Show is back with a bang this year, promising that with a new locating the offers will be bigger and better than ever before. The most popular home show with home owners for over 100 years, with inspiration spanning from new kitchen gadgets to the latest lux rug. The hundreds of exhibitors offer all the gadgets, homeware, plenty of fixtures and fittings needed to become the envy of your neighbours – with some of the most exclusive deals around! Those stuck for ideas on your latest relocating plan can get tips and advice on decor from the multitude of experts taking part in various seminars and talks. With a host of celebrities there too – presenting their thoughts on the latest trends for 2015, there is no other place you will want to be.  The show ground itself is divided into eight (yes, eight!) dedicated areas, each of which boasts unique show homes and inspirational room sets to get your creative juices flowing. With everything within walking distance, it’s only your arms that may be aching by the end – this is the one stop shop to assemble the home of your dreams.

History

The show was founded in 1908 by the Daily Mail and was originally envisaged as a publicity tool for the newspaper and as a way of increasing its advertising revenue. It brought a world of indulgence and modern design to the newly growing middle class and quickly established itself as a must-visit event in the social calendar. Nowadays, it has become a much more varied show with the likes of baby books to oil paintings to solid oak furniture, there really is everything you could possibly want to put in your home.

Where and When:

The Ideal Home Show takes place from the 20th March right through till the 6th April 2015, at Olympia London. The show is open daily from 10am till 6pm (with a late night opening on Thursdays till 9pm – we love a little bit of late night shopping, ideally suited for those who are busy at work!), with tickets costing £12 (weekday adult ticket), £5 (Thursday late night shopping ticket) and £14 (weekend adult ticket) with concessions and children’s tickets sold at a discounted price.

What to Eat and Drink

The Ideal Home Show is the home of fabulous shopping but it’s a big show and getting around it can not only be hard on your feet, but your tummy too! Taking time out is a must, but don’t panic you’ll find everything from a full dining experience, to a simple ‘pit stop’ for a quick snack to refuel and keep shopping! There are plenty of bars and cafés at the show, from coffee pop up shops to champagne bars. This quaint bar offers the traditional assortment of coffees, teas and pastries for those quick pit stops, as well as custom made hot paninis, a selection of sandwiches and salads.

whether you fancy a tipple of beer or champagne this bar will have what your need – oh and a packet of finest crisps too!
·         Central Kitchen
This eatery offers a wide range of kitchen classics, the mouth-watering Central ranch burger with skinny fries and onion rings sounds delicious.
·         Pizza ExpressThe traditional take on pizzas and pastas.

Serving light soups, salads, wraps and smoothies.
·         The Orchard Food Market
The deli section offers a range of hot and cold food including jacket potatoes, pasta, fish, chicken or freshly prepared salads, not to mention beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks – you wide range of food on offer won’t disappoint.
·         TK Artisan Bakery
This British bakery and tea room is piled high with delicious morning pastries, lunchtime tarts, wholesome salads and handmade sandwiches – plus delicious homemade cakes and yummy treats.

What to see and do!

Well what isn’t there to see and do?! From interiors to home improvements, gardens, technology, food, housewares, fashion, beauty and more shopping than you can imagine. The stalls are set up into designated sections making it easy for you to navigate to the area you want to shop in for example homewares, then you will see an array of colourful pop up marquees filled with desirable goods for you to buy.
