The fastest notebook in the world? We seem to see these surface every few month or so, usually after a major chip maker has just introduced a new processor or after AMD/NVIDIA has revealed a brand new mobile GPU. It’s easily to claim the “world’s fastest” when you’re the first to introduce the latest hardware, but Eurocom seems to be faster than just about everyone else.
The company has just introduced their newest laptop, the Racer, which they’re calling the planet’s fastest 15″ notebook. The Racer joins numerous other Eurocom machines, with this one boasting the latest from AMD, Intel and NVIDIA. It will also support Intel’s 7th-gen chipset, Huron River HM65, and will support up to a 100-watt GPU. That means that NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 485M can be ordered, or AMD’s Radeon Mobility HD 6970M. For the workstation buyers, there’s an option for the Quadro FX 3800M.
Moreover, the Racer can be outfitted with 32GB of RAM, and it will support both DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600 memory modules. It’ll be powered by a 180-watt AC adapter, and it will most definitely not be the world’s thinnest 15″ laptop all the while. Glossy or matte display options (Full HD) are available, and it will also ship with a Gigabit Ethernet port, optional 802.11n/Bluetooth/3G, up to 2 hard drives, a 9-in-1 card reader, eSATA, Firewire, two USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports and Intel’s latest Core i5 and i7 CPUs. No pricing is mentioned, but the first shipments should start early next month.
