An Overview Of The SBI PO Cut-off Marks

If you are planning to appear for the SBI PO examination; then you should know about the cut off marks. The cutoff marks is the minimum marks required to get selected for the next round of the recruitment process. For instance, candidates who have scored the cut off marks in the preliminary exam are allowed to appear for the mains exam. Similarly, the candidates who score the required cut off marks in the mains exam are allowed to appear for the group discussion and personal interview round. Thus, without the required cut off marks; the candidate will not be able to go the next step in the selection process.

The selection process in SBI consists of three stages. The preliminary exam is the first stage in which the applicants appear. On the basis of the cut off marks after the preliminary exam, candidates are selected for the main exam. Applicants who score marks more than or equal to the cut off marks can appear in a group discussion and personal interview round. Basis the performance in the group discussion and personal interview round and Mains examination, candidates are nominated for employment as probationary officers.

SBI PO has the sectional cutoff marks system in which the candidate will need to score the minimum qualifying marks in each subject and section. For instance, the candidate will have to score the minimum qualifying marks in Quantitative Aptitude, English language and Reasoning Ability. For each section, the cutoff marks are different.

Besides this, there is an overall cutoff mark in which the candidates will need to secure the set overall cut off score to qualify. Candidates have to secure both overall as well as sectional cut off score in order to clear the SBI PO. If you are planning to appear for the SBI PO exam in 2018; then you should know about the SBI PO cut off marks of 2017 and the previous year cutoffs too. The cutoff marks for Preliminary and Mains differ.

Important points that one should keep in mind:

Being the largest banking sector in India, State Bank of India follows a stringent procedure so that only the best candidates can be selected for their posts. Once a candidate gets selected for Probationary officer post; he or she needs to go through 2 years’ probation during which training is imparted to the candidate. The learning opportunities are immense during this period and so the chances of growth in both personal and professional space are also high. Once the probation period is over, the bank employee can appear for certain other exams within SBI to get a promotion. The promotion policy in SBI among all the public sector banks in India is the best.

Compared to the IBPS PO, SBI PO is a bit challenging one. This is because the number of applicants appearing for SBI PO every year is higher than IBPS PO. So, in order to score the required cutoff marks, you will have to prepare yourself really well.
