Tucked away among the gentle slopes of hills dotted with vineyard in Italy’s Lombardy region, L’Albereta is a place of unforgettable experiences.
The 19th-century manor house has 38 guestrooms and 19 suites, all of them decorated with style, but each one different from the next. One suite, however, stands out the most. Not through refined furniture, not even through size, but because it features a retractable roof.
Known as the Cabriolet Room, this two person suite allows guests to feel the sun on their face in the morning, or admire the stars shining at midnight with the simple touch of a button. According to The Telegraph, thanks to this special suite, L’Albereta might be considered the only luxury hotels in Europe with what could be classified as an outdoor hotel bedroom.
Beyond the bedroom with the ‘’romantic surprise’’ (as the roof is defined on the hotel’s site), the suite also includes a large bathroom, featuring a hydro-massage tub, and a balcony that faces the beautiful surrounding vineyards and the romantic nearby Lake Iseo. A night in the Cabriolet suite costs from £370 a night, excluding breakfast.
L’Albereta is a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux network and is also home to a refined restaurant, a 2.000 square metres spa and a magnificent park, dotted with contemporary art sculptures.
The hotel is situated in the Franciacorta region of Lombardy, known for its wine making. The closest cities are Brescia and Bergamo, less than half an hour away, but Milan and Verona are also only an hour’s drive.
