It seems that slowly, but surely, decorating offices with post-it notes is becoming a new trend. Whereas most of us use these handy pieces of paper to pass information or stick them to our computers to remember something, others take them and create wonderful works of art from them. Ben Brucker is already popular for having created superhero murals from post-its which he used to decorate the walls of his office. Now, the muse has shifted from superheros to another popular franchise, Star Wars.
Viking is an office supply store in the UK. Recently, the members of the company worked together in order to create astonishing post-it murals on the walls of their office. Their source of inspiration was Ben Brucker, but they created famous characters from the Star Wars series and not superheroes. It took 3,597 sticky notes to finish their work. The characters they have chosen – Darth Vader, R2-D2, Yoda and a Storm Trooper – were selected due to their colors. Given the limited variety of colors in post-it notes, it was easier for the team to create these particular characters.
Four people worked for five hours to put the characters up. “We have quite a lot of free wall space here at Viking and regularly give different teams the opportunity to spruce them up. This time, however, the team decided to take a few photos and make a video of the process! After having been inspired by Ben Brucker’s superhero murals, the team decided to create their own post-it wall art,” wrote the company on their website, detailing the entire creative process.
Of course, the team faced some hardship during the process as well. One of the team members was afraid of heights and was apprehensive to climb a ladder. One of the walls had been cleaned beforehand and the notes would not stick. However, with patience, all these problems were overcome and the Star Wars murals were brought to life.
