Sleeping in a hammock is one of the most relaxing things in the world. You simply put one up under the shade of two trees and doze off as the wind gently rocks you. For nonconformist people, putting a hammock in their own homes is a choice as well. However, what if there was a more elegant way to achieve the same feeling? Hanging beds offer more comfort than hammocks and at the same time look more stylish. One such hanging bed was created by Wiktor Jażwiec.
Wiktor Jażwiec is a young designer from Poland. In order to distinguish his works from others on the market, he came up with a new design for a hanging bed. In order to maximize the space in the room and make space in case of small environments, the designer came up with two positions for the bed.The first position is the classical one where the bed is left hanging just above the ground. This is the way it must be kept if its owners wish to sleep in it.
However, during the day, the bed can be raised up to the ceiling. This is the second position and it clears the area beneath it, increasing the floor space in the room. The mechanism is automatic and brings the bed up and down according to its owner’s needs. The bed must be assembled on site by the buyer. The size of the object and the material are mostly customizable. The largest bed can weigh up to 80 kg and features extra safety protection measures to make sure it does not snap while in top position. Buyers can choose a variety of wood finishes, lacquers and gloss paint options for their hanging bed. Multiple colors are also available. The hanging bed also features adjustable back lighting.
What do you think about it? Would you like to sleep in this hanging bed?
