Once known as Heijo, Nara is known as being the first permanent capital of Japan, established in 710. In 784, the capital was moved to Nagaoka, when the government was threatened by powerful Buddhist monasteries. Nara is situated nearby Kyoto, so tourists will have the opportunity to see Japan’s largest and oldest temples. The main attraction here is Todaiji Temple with its cantilevered buildings.

Ishigaki is situated west of Okinawa and is considered to be Japan’s premier beach destination. This beautiful location also makes a good base for tourists to explore the other islands in the Yaeyama archipelago. Placed 1,249 miles south of Tokyo, this place is not filled with temples and shrines like other Japanese cities, but it does offer an exuberant nightlife for tourists willing to have fun and several activities, like water sports and climbing Mount Nosoko.

These days, Kyoto, is only the capital of the Kyoto prefecture. More than 1,000 years ago, this place served as the imperial capital of Japan. Kyoto is situated on central Honshu Island and is also known as the City of 10,000 Shrines, due to its several Shinto shrines, like Buddhist temples and Fushimi Inari Shrine. To be mentioned that Kyoto also homes amazing gardens and the Gion Matsuri festival, a huge celebration that is held in July.
