When we have a pet, we tend to spoil it rotten. Be it cat, dog or hamster, a pet quickly becomes a most cherished member of the family. We shop for food, the best toys and the perfect sleeping place. Keeping this in mind, Samsung has created the ultimate doghouse, one that no canine would be likely to say no to.
The Dream Doghouse was created in order to promote Samsung’s sponsorship of UK’s dog show, Crufts 2015. As such, it will soon be available on the market. The doghouse was created by a team of 12 designers, one of them being an architect. The development of the Dream Doghouse cost a total of £20,000 (US$30,500).
The area is made of three parts: “a rest and entertainment space, a dining area, and an unsheltered leisure area with astro-turf grass.” Unfortunately most of the technology that had been displayed does not actually work. However, Samsung envisions a treadmill and hydrotherapy pool that would help the dog exercise, Feeding would be done with the help of an automatic feeder. There would also be a push button that would help the dog keep in contact with its owner.
The dining area is coated in vinyl wallpaper and has several portraits that show Crufts “pin-ups.” The entertainment area features thick fire-retardant carpet and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S on the wall. Perhaps the dogs will not play Candy Crush or Farmville on the tablet, but it might be an interesting object for them to “paw” at.
“The Samsung dream doghouse looks sleek and modern, featuring the kind of tech the discerning dog of the future will need,” explained Andy Griffiths, president of Samsung Electronics U.K. and Ireland. “from dogs who have social media profiles, to owners who use video calling to check on their pet while away, technology is fast becoming an integral part of everyday life.”
Those who wish to get a general idea of the Dream Doghouse can see it at the Crufts which started on March 5th. What do you think of it?
