Furniture is rarely versatile in our homes. If we feel the need to lie down, we buy a bed. If we wish to sit, we turn to a chair or a sofa. Sometimes, a small bench can make its way into our homes. However, all of these object occupy a lot of space in our house. Montreal-based designer Stéphane Leathead has come up with a concept that fits several pieces of furniture into a single, versatile design. The new invention was called the Exocet chair.
Exocet is a new concept chair whose unique and creative design allows it to shuffle through various shapes until it reaches the desired one. It can be changed in different ways in order to cater to different needs and provide maximum comfort. The chair has identical slats attached to a cylinder that allow it to change shape with ease. This interesting concept, not only saves space in your living room, but adds some elegance to any interior design. Depending on your wish, with the Exocet you can sit upright, relax, lounge alone or with a partner and even lie down watching TV. All you have to do is rotate the chair in the position you desire to access all its sitting and lying options.
The Exocet has soft, delicate curves, making its design an elegant and distinctive one, despite its apparent simplicity. The ergonomics of each slate have been designed to offer maximum comfort to its owner. Exocet is the first product to be released by the design studio Designarium. It will be presented at the Interior Design Show (IDS2015) in Toronto later this month.
Combining both form and function, this sleek and comfortable chair aims to make itself at home in any type of interior design. Its uniqueness will make it stand out, while its shape will offer maximum comfort to everyone. Would you like to add the Exocet in your home?
