Garmin has recently come out on the market with a new product, the activity-focused sports watch, Fenix 3. The watch has a dark, beautiful design, coming in three different styles: silver, gray and a premium sapphire model, that also features a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. The silver model comes with a red strap, the gray model with a black one and the sapphire with a stainless steel strap.
“Premium materials, a rugged aesthetic and smartwatch capabilities make fēnix 3 the perfect watch for someone who lives a rigorous lifestyle,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. “Designed to handle even the most rugged conditions, fēnix 3 provides a comprehensive multisport feature set that can be fully customized to the user, making it easy to transition into everyday activities.”
Fenix 3 is ready to aid its user in any fitness and training activity. It comes with fitness training features plus applications for outdoor navigation. For its navigation system it has built-in GPS and support for Russia’s GLONASS system. Its training features will measure your heart rate, count your steps and even give you hourly reminders to get up and move. Dedicated athletes and make use of its recovery time calculation, VO2 max and other features that can be used in a wide range of activities such as: “cross-country and alpine skiing, snowboarding, as well as hiking, climbing and trail running.”
As for its other specs, the watch can receive calls, texts and email notifications that are delivered directly to your wrist. Fenix 3 also supports Garmin’s Connect IQ platform, an open-source forum created for developers who wish to develop apps specifically for the Garmin products.
The Fenix 3 watches will be available starting with the first quarter of this year. The silver and gray versions will be priced at $500, while the sapphire version will cost $600. What do you think of this sports watch?
