Nature is most definitely the most talented artist. Through its elements it can create unique beauties that transcend the ages. Nature has created incredible ice caves, pink beaches, amazing sculptures and all sorts of wonders. Now, through its strong winds and long blizzards, it has shaped amazing ice sculptures on the peaks of Mount Javornik.
Mount Javornik is a popular skiing spot in Slovenia. Starting with December 1st, the mountain has been subjected to strong winds, ice and snow that continued for ten days straight. Incredible, lifelike ice sculptures were thus shaped by the winds and were the perfect view to be photographed by Slovenian photographer Marko Korošec. The photographer is famous for his projects involving tornadoes, lightning, storms, blizzards, and other natural wonders created by extreme weather conditions.
Aware of the continuous blizzard that had been raging atop Mount Javornik, the photographer headed towards the top of the mountain, expecting to see a beautiful scenery. However, what met his eyes there, far exceeded any of his expectations. Nature’s fury left in its path dazzling ice sculptures whose intricate designs made them look almost hand-crafted. The sculptures were entirely made of ultra hard rime ice. Their shapes inspired the photographer to even give them names such as Icy Dragon or Frozen Creature. He recalled that some of the ice spikes were over three feet long. The beautiful and desolate landscape even inspired Marko Korošec to take an Ice Age Selfie atop Mount Javornik.
“I love extreme weather and seen a lot, but this was just above my imagination what I experienced earlier this week,” claimed the photographer. “[Hard rime] was 100-150cm deep at some most exposed places. It reminds of extraterrestrial creatures like in the Sci-Fi movies.”
What do you think of the beautiful view atop Mount Javornik? Have you ever seen such amazing sighs created by nature?
