The Tomb of Mausolus was built at Halicarnassus for a governor in the Persian Empire, named Mausolus. The Tomb of Mausolus was considered an amazing structure by Antipater of Sidon and include it as being one of his Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After this, the word “mausoleum” was use for any grand tomb. Unfortunately, the Tomb of Mausolus was damaged by an earthquake and disassembled in the 15th century by European Crusaders. This beautiful tomb was built in 1570. Humayun’s Tomb has an amazing Mughal architecture and when it was built it was the first garden-tom on the Indian subcontinent. It is situated in Delhi, India and it reaches a height of 48 meter. The dome is painted in a pure white, and for a better contrast the rest of the building in colored in red sandstone. The construction of this building was very intense, it took approximately 8 years only to build the main tomb.

This astonishing mausoleum was built for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir and it is placed in Lahore, Pakistan. The Mughal Emperor Jahangir ruled from 1605 to 1627. His son built Tomb of Jahangir, 10 years after his father’s death. The interior of the mausoleum is embellished with white marble cenotaph with its beautiful and colorful pietra dura flowers and the exterior is glad with red sandstones facing with rich panel decoration inlaid with marble decorative motifs.

Placed in Moscow, Lenin’s Mausoleum serves as a resting place of Vladimir Lenin. His embalmed body rests there since the year he died, in 1924, and it is on public display. Its sarcophagus is kept at a humidity of 80 percent and at a temperature of 16 °C. Entering this mausoleum, you are not allowed to take photos, to record, to smoke and even not to talk.
