Everywhere you look on the internet you can see selfies. You can found them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. Still, there are places you even not dare to think at you can find them there: on traffic signs.
Authorities in Antwerp, Belgium, are inviting local residents to upload selfies and become real traffic signs with the purpose to stop people from speeding.
Belgium already has speeding signs with animated smileys: drivers who respect the legal limit are ‘’rewarded’’ with a happy face, while those who drive too fast will see an unhappy face displayed on the traffic sign. However, the new awareness campaign takes the idea to a whole new level. How would you feel to see your neighbor’s disapproving face when you commit traffic violations?
The campaign was created with the help of Duval Guillaume and caught the attention of local and national media.
