This amazing building is placed in Avignon, in Southern France. Palace of the Popes is known as being one of the most important medieval structures in Europe. Its construction began in 1252 and in 1309 it became the seat of the Papacy, after Rome rebelled against the election of Pope Clement V. However, the Palace of Popes remained the center of Western Christianity throughout the 14th century. This beautiful structure attracts thousands of visitors every year and is recognized as being Europe’s biggest Gothic building.

Chateau d’Angers is built on the site of an abandoned Roman settlement. This castle is one of the most visited places in France. It is located in the Loire Valley, in the city of Angers, and it homes the famous Tapestry of the Apocalypse, which is a set of amazing tapestries woven between 1373 and 1382. This tapestry illustrates events from the Bible’s Book of Revelation, in amazing color and detail. Tapestry of Apocalypse was commissioned by Louis I, Duke of Anjou.

Placed in the Paris suburb of Vincennes, this beautiful structure was built as a hunting lodge for Louis VII. During the 14th century, Chateau de Vincennes was improved with a heavily fortified structure and in the 15th it was given a rectangular-shaped outer wall. Napoleon III decided in 1860 to allow the Chateau de Vincennes and the nearby Bois de Vincennes to Paris to serve as a public park. You can visit this beautiful structure and also the 16th-century royal chapel.
