3D Printing is becoming more and more popular and with it the variety of printers makes choosing one harder. Some are the optimum size for travelling purposes, while others take advantage of a bulkier design to add more features. On this market, the FLUX 3D Printer aims to overshadow everyone else by adding a scanner and laser engraver in the same unit as the printer.
FLUX 3D Printer has a modular design. Some of the modules are already included, while others can be purchased separately. In this way the printer can become a 3D scanner, laser engraver and printer. The startup behind this invention has also launched a module SDK in order to allow others to develop hardware for the printer. As a result, FLUX 3D could have many different capabilities in the future.
“Unlimited, elegant, and simple — FLUX is the right choice for everyone because it is simple to set up, elegantly designed, and has an unlimited capacity for expansion. In addition to the basic FFF (fused filament fabrication) 3D printing, FLUX is equipped with a built-in 3D scanner and supports an ever-increasing array of interchangeable modules,” wrote the company on their website.
The additional modules of the printer will be attached with magnets, easily and without needing any special tools. FLUX 3D has high resolution stepping motors to facilitate a very precise printing. Its built-in scanner also lets users clone objects, similarly to a copy machine.
Due to its modular design, the printer can be repaired with more ease. The user simply has to detach the broken module and repair it, thus having the possibility to use the other modules of the FLUX 3D. The gadget also comes with “Bluetooth-based mobile device control and operation, user-friendly modelling and configuration software, and a desktop-friendly design.”
