More and more smart devices seem to hit the market. We have smartphones, smart watches, smart lights, smart cars and even gadgets for creating smart houses. However, until now, we have not had smart baggage. Until now, the carry-on was nothing more than an object where we could put our clothes. Sometimes, it even got lost at the airport. Now, with a new invention called Bluesmart, things might just change.
The creators of Bluesmart decided to make the carry-on as impressive as possible. It has a built-in digital scale that paired with an app allows you to check if you’ve overstuffed your bag or added just the right amount of clothes. Since outlets can be problematic when you are anywhere else but inside your house, the carry-on comes with a built-in battery for charging up your gadgets. In order to make sure no one can access your bag without permission, the Bluesmart has a digitally controlled lock that is used through the paired app. It can also be set to automatically lock the carry-on if the baggage gets lost. If the battery of the bag dies, you can still access it with a special key.
Moreover, Bluesmart aims to make sure you do not get separated from your bag. After all, we put things we value in our luggage whenever we go somewhere. And we hate to lose it. Bluesmart has a Bluetooth proximity sensor function that is able to send alerts if the bag strays too far. By using a proximity heat map it allows you to track it down. The carry-on also comes with GPS in case the bag gets further away from you.
The bag has a storage space that can easily be accessed in order to allow you to have your laptop and other gadgets at hand. A campaign has been started on Indiegogo to bring the Bluesmart to the production line. The pledge for it is $265. Would you like to have such a carry-on?
