Taking care of plants requires time and energy. While they are not as demanding as a pet might be, they still must be tended to in order to make sure they thrive. What’s more, when we leave town and go on holidays, we have to find someone that can make sure our plants are watered and cared for. We do not want to see them die after we’ve spent so long taking care of them. Pikaplant One aims to replace the helpful neighbor that waters our plants with special shelves that water them.
Pikaplant One is a new an automatic watering system for houseplants that is able to provide them with just the right amount of water. This innovative system will keep our plant alive for months without requiring any type of intervention on our parts. The system has been designed to resemble the natural wet-dry cycle of ground water. The Pikaplant One has a large reservoir for clear water that you need to fill once a month. With the help of gravity, water is pulled down a tube. This water will be used to keep your plants hydrated and keep you from worrying that you forgot to water them.
The system can be used to water flowers, perennials, and ferns. There are no tubes to lead the water to the plants placed on the Pikaplant One shelves. Instead, the shelves serve as a trough for a special fabric that soaks up the water that falls from the reservoir. Once soaked, the water will be available to the plant through the drainage holes in their pots. The system is completely passive and works similarly to the circuit of water in nature. Moreover, by using no electricity, the Pikaplant One system makes the air in your homes cleaner and also looks nice, regardless of the interior design style you favor.
What do you think of the Pikaplant One? Is it effective to keep our plants alive?
