Fitness trackers have a wide array of uses and open up all kinds of possibilities. In order to have success on the market, they must come with something new and innovative. The Amiigo tracker is a new invention that is able to accurately identify the exercise being performed. Moreover, it offers the user important cardiovascular information. The Amiigo tracker is made of two parts, a shoe clip and a wristband. These two parts improve the tracking accuracy of the device. Each part of the device uses a 3-axis accelerometer to track the user’s motion. The wristband also comes with a thermometer to measure body temperature and a pulse oximeter to measure blood oxygen saturation. The materials used for the shoe clip and the wristband are ABS plastic and polycarbonate. In order to secure the shoe clip, it is better to clip it over two shoe lace crossings. In this way you make sure it does not fall off.
As many devices of this kind, the shoe clip and wristband of the Amiigo tracker are paired over Bluetooth with a smartphone that has the necessary app. A first time user has to exercise for 30 seconds for the device to register the activity. First, though, he has to register the name of the activity in the app. After each type of exercise is added to the application’s database, the user can put the phone aside and start exercising. The program will be able to differentiate between moves.
After the workout is completed, the data is sent to the cloud servers for processing. In this way, the user’s performance can be compared with other people’s performances. Thus, the biometric information relayed by the device is more accurate and comprehensive. The user receives an analysis in terms of duration, form, consistency and speed for each workout. Moreover, they also receive cardiovascular performance parameters such as heart rate variability, breathing duration, breathing rate, and blood oxygen saturation levels.
