Waking up early in the morning is hard for everyone. Bleary-eyed and still sleeping on our feet, we head towards the kitchen for a much needed cup of coffee. However, once there, we actually have to start making it or make do with the day old coffee left in the coffee machine. The Barisieur Alarm Clock, however, wakes you up with a bespoke cup of coffee right when you need it.
British designer Joshua Renouf is the one that came with the invention that blends perfect timing and a delicious cup of coffee. He understood that besides our daily doze of caffeine we also need a soothing alarm clock that does not startle us out of bed. Therefore, he came up with the Barisieur Alarm Clock, an alarm clock and coffee brewer built into one.
The invention replaces the shrill tones of most alarm clocks with the alerting sound of steel ball bearings vibrating. At the same time, the coffee brewer starts preparing your coffee for a fresh start in the morning. As the alarm rings, the device boils water through heat induction. As you wake up and start your day, you will feel the aroma of your favorite coffee beans.
The Barisieur Alarm Clock also comes with a slot for a spot of milk and storage for sugar and extra grounds. The design of the coffee brewer encourages a ritual before bed. The user must prepare the ingredients such as coffee, such as beans, sugar and milk, before going to sleep. In this way he unwinds and also the subconscious knows it has something to look forward to in the morning.
At the moment, the invention is only a prototype. However, plans are put into motion to start producing it. The retail price will be somewhere between 150 and £250 (around $250-$420). What do you think of the Barisieur Alarm Clock?
