At night, when we wish to go from the bedroom to the kitchen to get a glass of water or perhaps to the bathroom, we rarely turn on the lights. Usually, before we go to sleep, we plug in nightlights and use them to guide us when we wake up. While these nightlights are great for illuminating our path, they also use up the outlet in which they are plugged. The SnapRays Guidelights rectify this matter.
This new inventions turn any outlet into a nightlight. Instead of using the outlet, the SnapRays Guidelights let it free for other devices, while still illuminating the way. These guidelights were developed by SnapPower. They come with three LEDS and are designed to replace the standard outlet cover. They can be installed in just a few seconds without needing batteries or wires. The LEDs are designed to last 25 years. Moreover, the company claims that their SnapRays Guidelight powers with less than 10 cents per year.
The guidelights have “Power Extractors” on their back which are used to power them up. These extractors fit inside the electrical box and around the outlet receptacle. This is where they make contact with the screw terminals that can be found on the outlet’s sides. In this way they draw power from the receptacle without being hardwired to the outlet.
In order to install the SnapRays Guidelights one must first turn off the power to the outlet. Afterwards, you simply remove the cover plate and replace it with the guidelights. The last step is to turn the power back on. Once it becomes dark, the SnapRays Guidelights will automatically illuminate the area. These new inventions can be pre-ordered for $15. Packs of multiple guidelights can be purchased at a lower price if you wish to install them in every room.
