Do you often hear the question: when will you get married? When will you have children? or maybe both? It seems that the woman we are about to show to you, has decided to show to the entire world that she is sufficient for herself, that she doesn’t need a man or a child to enjoy family trips, family moments or family photos. What do you think this is: extreme feminism or a pertinent point of view?
One single woman simply couldn’t hear anymore of love, marriage and children, so she answered the big question „why aren’t you married yet?”in her own way. Instead of searching for the right partner, she envisioned one for herself. Extreme feminism or not, this lady proved to the entire world that she doesn’t need a ring on her finger to feel complete.
Art director Suzanne Heintz created her own family, exactly in the way she wanted her perfect family to be. In a trailer describing this longtime project, Heintz reveals a number of photos she took with her “family.” She simply needed a camera and two mannequins to enjoy extraordinary family moments and typical family trips. We would call extreme feminism, others would call it courage to break boundaries, how would you name it?
This family project was a long term project as over 14 years, Suzanne lived with her own mannequin family, proving her relatives and friends wrong. She shared with them moments of intimity, moments of love, holidays, vacations and any other moments a real family shares. In the photos it seems Suzzane and her family are enjoying moments of fun and also the daily chores of a home.
What was her point? Maybe she wanted to prove that you don’t need to live by the rules of our society, that you can take your own destiny into your hands. Is it extreme feminism or extreme courage? Which one do you think it is?
