Design a Tea is a small artisan company with great products and a great story too.
Design a Tea refers to the fact that clients can make their own tea blends by choosing a base (black tea, oolong, green and rooibos), and one or two flavors (I counted 44 flavors on their site!).
Right after the order is made, the company’s stuff is hand-blending the tea and flavorings in order to keep them fresh. The flavorings used are all natural and 100% organic.

The possibility to customize the order applies to the package also. If customers intend to offer the tea as a gift, they can note a special message in the order form, and they will receive the tea in a package imprinted with the message. The custom labeling is free and can include business messages and business logos too, for no additional cost.
For those who don’t want to risk blending without smelling the flavors, there is an option to order a maximum of five samples. Those who simply don’t feel they want to play with flavors at all can choose from 40 Design a Tea signature blends.
Design a Tea’s founder, Brian Pfeiffer, spent almost 3 decades in the emergency services as a paramedic before jumping in the tea business. The idea come one night, in his dreams. Yes, dreams like those successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.
In his dream Brian was walking on the rural road he grew up on, when he passed an elderly lady who was cooking something on a small fire in the ditch. The old lady asked him if he would like some apple tea and Brian accepted. After he tasted the tea he exclaimed that it was a very good tea. The old lady answered that it is good because he created it.
I believe Brian Pfeiffer changed the meaning of the “follow your dream” encouragement to even a higher degree of determination. From know on, probably it would be more appropriate to encourage someone to first note their dreams after they wake up and then follow them!
