This piece of furniture is an original armchair-bed hybrid mixed with elements taken from a rocking chair design. It is amazing how three pieces of furniture can be mixed into one super-functional piece which is even hard to name. We will call it the Odu Rocker, the name the designers who envisioned the piece, gave to the magnificent hybrid.
This interesting armchair-bed hybrid is the creation of designers Flo Florian and Sascha Akkermann from Confused-Direction. The piece of furniture isn’t only original, but also eye-catching, featuring a curvaceous shell like base completed by a comfortable finishing texture which makes the hybrid quite inviting for relaxation and even sleeping. What makes the armchair-bed hybrid even more interesting is the way the person sitting in it can shift its gravitational center transforming it from an armchair to bed, and vice versa.
The name of the armchair-bed hybrid, “Odu” comes from Hungarian and it means “cavern” that describes the generous size of the original piece of furniture. The large outer shell is made of fiber laminate and epoxy resin, while the inner core is upholstered in soft, skin friendly micro fiber available in 20 different colors, which makes the item customizable for a variety of modern interiors.
Can you think of something better to spend a relaxing weekend day in your home other than this one of a kind armchair-bed hybrid? Bold pieces of furniture like this one can make us imagine about how the future indoor designs will look like. Do you find the Odu Rocker a good fit for your living room?
