Volkswagen Aerrow is an F22 shaped vehicle packed with a special background. Inspired by Volkswagen’s NSU BAUMM concept vehicle from the 1950s, Andreas Blazunaj created an extended version with modern and futuristic elements.
Its shape is mainly projected to harness energy efficiency and gain a reasonable top speed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have space for more than the driver. This vehicle could be used for daily routines, such as driving to the office, or it could easily enter racing competitions.
What’s admirable about the Volkswagen Aerrow is that it runs on two wheels to minimize the friction forces and reduce the overall width and aerodynamic resistance. The wheels are also hidden from the outer panels, giving the impression of a spaceship or a floating vehicle on the road. It’s powered by a TDI-Hybrid motor coupled to a 2X2 drive transmission (2WD). It uses electric gyroscopes to balance its weight when stationary or on the move. The gyroscopes are connected to a KERS system which supplies them with the energy.
As Andreas Blazunaj dreamed of an ultra-light car, he designed the Volkswagen Aerrow with an carbon-fiber monocoque chassis. The cockpit is accessible by the sliding canopy with a 170 liter luggage capacity offered by two compartments located on the sides of the seats.
If the future is really this individualistic, then perhaps Volkswagen Aerrow is a competitor hard to knock down by other designs. It’s environmental friendly, fast and energy efficient. Apparently, energy efficiency is the distress call from all automobile designers. No wonder each concept brings a different perspective regarding it.
