Antonie Deblay, a 22 year-old student from France is making big bucks, with almost no investment. He came with a strange, but brilliant business idea that is now bringing him a huge profit.
Young Antoine is now selling canned fresh air from his picturesque French village called Montcuq. These white tins labelled ‘Air de Montcuq’ cost 5.50 Euros, approximately 7.50 USD. Shipping it to the States costs an additional 5 Euros, but if you are willing to pay this amount of money, the fresh air coming from a lovely rural area in France can be yours.
First, he put his idea on the French version of Crowfunding, raising an amount of 1,000 Euros (approx. 1,400 US$) in about 1 month. He then had the money for packaging his product and developing a website in order to promote his idea. In a short amount of time, the French mass-media discovered his weird, but attractive idea and promoted it both in print and online press.
Afterwards, Antoine Deblay’s business started flourishing; he had more and more orders each day: he knew it was going to sell, but not so much in so little time! In 3 weeks, people order about 1,000 cans of fresh air of Montcuq.

This idea brought the Frenchman a huge profit, with a profit margin of about 60%; this means he already earned thousand of Euros. Recently, he announced he won’t sell more ten liters of air of Montcuq/week, because he does not want to use all the villages’ air.
We could not refrain from asking: where did all this success came from? What is the thing that appealed the public in order to buy canned air? It could be the product’s name, which translates into English as ‘wind of my ass’, together with the inscription on the label, which read the following: “Fresh air of Montcuq is 100% organic, it immerses you in the depths of the city to refresh your ideas. Ideal when you are in need of creative inspiration. Attention: irreplaceable content, consumable once. Do not leave it open.”
Many people buying Air de Montcuq probably found the name and marketing plan extremely funny. What do you think; would you buy this product?
