2013 was a year of many great TV shows. For the Tv shows afficionados, it might even be difficult to choose just some of their favorite, or to name what they think were the best TV shows this year. As a major fan of TV shows myself, I tried my best to name a top 5 of the TV shows I loved in 2013, taking into account not just my personal preference but also critical acclaim and public reception. It proved to be a daunting task, as expected, but I managed to name them. Feel free to add to my list in the comment section, as I’m sure that my top 5 might not be the same as yours.
5 of the Best TV Shows of 2013
#1. Breaking Bad
The story of Walt White, chemistry teacher gone drug lord is one for the ages. The show went down guns a blazin’ striving to sentimentally redeem White. A story told with unnerving clarity, empathy and dark humor, a story about the American dream and how it creates monsters out of the men and women who chase after it.
#2.The Big Bang Theory
The lives of the adorable nerds keeps getting more interesting and more fun. The dynamic of the relationship between Sheldon and Amy is a never ending source of amusement, as is the lonely life led by Raj, who cannot talk to women unless he’s drunk. Filled with amazing characters, jokes, sarcasm but also friendship and love, The Big Bang Theory is without a doubt one of the best TV shows of 2013.
#3. The Originals
A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries, The Originals makes this list of best TV shows because the plot is well written and it’s filled with adrenaline, twists and turns and the story of the original vampires keeps getting better and better. With over 1000 years of life, we can expect that the stories from their pasts will be even more fascinating.
#4. The Crazy Ones
Starring funnyman Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Geller, this TV show follows the life of a confident and charming copywriter at an ad agency run by Williams’ character. A great situational comedy!
#5. Modern Family
Depicting the many events that happen in a modern family, this TV show will make you laugh hard. A grumpy old man played by Ed O’Neill, who played the legendary Al Bundy, with his young and attractive wife played by Sofia Vergara and his children and their families, will make you evenings better and make you appreciate family!
