Renault Sand Jumper is a remarkable design of 2010 by Luis Pedro Fonseca. It’s an all terrain vehicle. It uses special nano technology on its painting to absorb solar energy and most important, it uses recyclable material, such as PET bottles. Now this is something you cannot compete with.
Not only is the vehicle eco friendly by transport, but also by structure. Recycling is clearly the key for a healthy environment and Fonseca’s Reanult Sand Jumper concept empowers this position. The vehicle looks great and dominating at the same time. Its front resembles the Renault Alpine and older models, such as Renault Alliance.

Renault Sand Jumper’s aspect is of a Safari type vehicle. It doesn’t look practical for all weather situations, nor for all climates. It gives, however, the possibility to move from one point to another, no matter how harsh the terrain can be. It’s all thanks to its off-road build wheels, powered by four electric motors, one in each cap.
The vehicle runs on the same principles as any other solar vehicle, with a battery that stores any surplus energy. According to Luis Pedro Fonseca, the time needed to charge the Renault Sand Jumper is about eight and a half hours. But there is also an alternative. Thanks to a special in-built mechanism, the driver can charge the vehicle in less than 90 minutes.

Overall Renault Sand Jumper is promising, especially becayse it is using nano solar panels which go unnoticed, hidden in the car’s paint. Credits go to Luis Pedro Fonseca, but also to the inventors and developers of nano technology who made all this possible.
Unfortunately, it’s uncertain how long we’ll wait until Renault will put some numbers down and announce its production. Nano technology is still an expensive domain and would need some massive funding to apply it. We’re waiting for a future where nano technology and environmental awareness work together to bring us a better world. Would you consider the Renault Sand Jumper as one of the saviors?
