New systems used for recycling are developed every day. As time passes, we understand more and more the importance of protecting our planet. Orbital Systems, a Swedish technology company, is trying to solve the problem of water conservation. Instead of having the water go down the drain, their system purifies it as soon as it is drained and sends it back to the shower head. In this way, 90 percent of the water we use is conserved. Moreover, the system could retain about 80 percent of the energy consumed during a normal shower. All of this would be thanks to their newest invention called the OrbSys Shower.
The shower works in a fairly simple way as far as its concept goes. To work flawlessly, it needs advanced technology. In order to recycle the water the OrbSys Shower needs a complex filtering system and pump that would be placed under the shower drain.
The soapy, used water flows in the filter. There it is purified and pumped back into the shower to be used again. Moreover, it retains its heat during the process. The filtering procedure ultimately makes the recycled water cleaner than the normal tap water.
A similar concept is used by astronauts on space shuttles. It does not come as a surprise that Orbital System is working with the Johnson Space Center at NASA in order to develop this project.
The OrbSys Shower comes with a touchscreen that allows its user to adjust the water flow and temperature. Moreover, the floor of the shower works as an access panel. Users can easily open it in order to change the filter or check its status. The used filters can even be sent back to the company where it will be recycled.
This new invention helps the environment by recycling water and purifying it. Would you use the OrbSys Shower?
