The 2013 International Motor Show that took place in Frankfurt was a delight for car lovers. Several new car designs were presented. One of them was the four-seater Smart FourJoy Concept that is supposed to mark the beginning of a new Smart generation. This new car comes with no doors, no rear window and an open roof. The idea of the Smart FourJoy is to get rid of anything that is unnecessary. Therefore the ballast is dropped and those interested are able to notice the car’s futuristic interior. What’s more, the vehicle is big enough to host four people. The car is meant to enable families to travel together in a Smart.
The Smart FourJoy boasts a luxurious rear seat bench that looks like lounge furniture. The missing elements give it a nice, airy feel and make it more comfortable. Moreover, they reduce the mass of the car. It is clearly created for people living in the urban area. Due to its design, the Smart FourJoy is easy to park just about anywhere. It is about 138 inches long, 78 inches wide and five feet tall. It’s turning cycle is less than 30 feet. This is an important factor as it boosts the agility of the car. The Smart FourJoy is powered by a 55 kW magneto-electric motor and 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery.
A fan of the Smart collection is able to notice the elements that point back to the first car of the series. The Smart FourJoy has extremely short overhangs and wheels positioned in the four most outer points. However, the tridion cell is a new feature made of polished full-aluminium.
The Smart FourJoy is an interesting car, with an innovative and futuristic design. The lack of doors and rear window makes it more open and comfortable. The seats are inspired by lounge furniture. Would you like to drive such a car?
