Bergmonch bike is not quite a bike. The vehicle is an ingenious combination of a rucksack and a downhilling device, like a scooter. It was specially conceived for mountain bikers, or sports enthusiasts, who wish to have an exciting descending from the top of the hill, but need an easy way to carry the device up.
The Bergmonch downhill bike weight only 9.5 Kg and is easy to fold up into a backpack that can be carried up a mountain. The lightweight backpack has an additional 19 liters storage space (a big lunch fits perfect there plus other things) and an exterior helmet compartment.
Bergmonch bike has hydraulic disc brakes and full suspension, but does not have pedals or any propulsion system. The sports device it is conceived only for downhill riding, offering forward motion only through gravity. If the terrain is rough, the user can stand on the bike with his/her weight well back. Otherwise the bike can be used kneeling.
Bergmonch is equipped with two black handles that provide a firm and comfortable grip. Also, due to a special mechanism the vehicle can be adjusted to fit a very wide range of rider heights.
