Aogashima is a volcanic Japanese island located in the Philippine Sea. This is quite a unique place in the world. Aogashima island is administered by Tokyo, even though the island is located at more than 200 miles distance from the capital city. One of the most curious facts about the volcanic island of Aogashima is that only 200 people live here.

If you plan on visiting this unique place in the world you may want to know that there are two main ways in which you can reach the island: by helicopter or by boat. Sometimes even getting by boat to Aogashima is difficult. The inhabited volcanic island of Aogashima, Japan, is so isolated that a road by boat can turn out being unsafe and quite dangerous.

Scuba diving is one of the most popular sports in the area. Hiking and camping by the volcano are also enjoyed by visitors. In the center of the island you will find a geothermal sauna. The main volcano is definitely impressive, being worth to be visited, too.

Aogashimad volcanic island seems to be the best place to visit if you want to get away from it all.
